Eric Hawthorn has spent three decades in education and has served as Upper School Division Director at St. Michael’s since 2023. He began his career teaching at a Catholic high school in Jersey City, NJ, where he served for 16 years before joining the KIPP Network to teach in Newark. Eric later moved to Léman Manhattan Preparatory School in New York City, where he spent nine years as Assistant Head of Upper School before being appointed Head of Middle School. In 2023, he relocated to Tucson to become the Upper School Division Director at St. Michael’s.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Eric graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1996 and first came to the United States to work in the soccer industry. He eventually transitioned into education and is now a proud U.S. citizen.
