Maria Acuña has served as an assistant kindergarten teacher at St. Michael’s since 2022. She is a dedicated early childhood educator with over seven years of experience as an assistant teacher. Maria supports young learners in their academic and social development.
Born in Mexico and raised in Tucson, Maria attended the University of Arizona, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her background in psychology enhances her understanding of child development, allowing her to create nurturing and enriching learning environments.
Beyond the classroom, Maria is a devoted wife and mother of two. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and biking with her family, as well cheering on her children as they compete in school athletics. Maria is passionate about fostering growth and creativity in children, both in her professional role and in her everyday life.
