Katrina Powell is currently an Upper Division Math Teacher. Prior to teaching at St. Michael’s, Dr. Powell worked as a Development Manager for Fox Tucson Theatre and The Erik Hite Foundation. Her previous experience included over 28 years in education. Dr. Powell has served in both public (Sahuarita Unified School District) and private schools (St. Augustine Catholic High School and Immaculate Heart School) in Southern AZ. Her roles included Middle School Science and Math Teacher, English and Drama Teacher, Coach, School Counselor, Asst. Principal, Athletic Director, Director of Admissions and Marketing, and Director of Organizational and Professional Development. She also currently serves on the Institute for Better Education (IBE) Foundation Board.
Dr. Powell believes strongly in offering a balanced education to all students, and researching and using the necessary resources to meet each student where they are while helping them grow to the best version of themselves.
Outside of school, Dr. Powell loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, writing, and cooking.
