b'Student Safety and Well-BeingThe safety, security, health, and well-being of the students in our care is our highest priority. Weve implemented a comprehensive safety system that includes faculty and staff training sessions and practice of standard response protocols. Our abiding goal is to provide all students with a secure and healthy learning environment both during school hours and at after-school activities.We make sure that everyone within our community feels safe and supported in a welcoming atmosphere that promotes inclusivity and respect for diversity. Teachers intentionally incorporate research-based Social-Emotional Learning curriculum into their weekly lesson plans. We teach resilience skills to help students cope with lifes challenges and bounce back after difficult experiences. We build positive relationships, promote mindfulness, and encourage extracurricular activities to build confidence, improve social skills, and stay active.The School employs a registered nurse for all student-health needs on campus. As an integral component of our programs for student well-being, the School offers the services of a full-time certified School counselor who works on-site to support the social and emotional needs of all students on campus. School counseling is intended to improve a students ability to utilize healthy social-emotional skills, build a strong sense of self, and practice helpful strategies to manage challenges that may arise in their daily lives.From the moment we first toured St. Michaels beautiful campus, we knew it was the right place for our daughter.
