b'Student LifePreparing Students for Lives of Meaning and PurposeStudent life at St. Michaels is founded on respect, kindness, hard work, and honesty. To strengthen and sustain this culture, St. Michaels students and teachers live by a promise to support our Schools shared values: Balance in Mind and Body and Spirit, Community, Difference and Belonging, Excellence, and Integrity. These habits of mind and character are foundational to the St. Michaels experience, essential for building and sustaining a caring, supportive, and peaceful school culture and for carrying out our mission of educating students for lives of meaning and purpose.Fine and Performing Arts Fine and performing arts have long been an integral component of the St. Michaels experience, evident throughout the year with performances and exhibitions showcasing student talent. We celebrate our students achievements in the arts at our annual holiday music program in December, our fall and spring Fine Arts Nights, and our spring Art Expo student gallery. Students in 4th to 8th grades also have the opportunity to participate in our annual musical-theater production, with professional costumes, sound, lighting, sets, and makeup and design.AthleticsSt. Michaels School offers physical-education classes, intramural and interscholastic athletics, and after-school activities to help develop and encourage a lifelong appreciation for and interest in physical fitness and overall good health. Academically eligible students in 6th to 8th grades are welcomed and encouraged to participate in interscholastic team sports each year, competing in the Tucson Interscholastic Athletic League (TIAL) in three seasons - girls volleyball and co-ed flag football in the fall, co-ed soccer in the winter, and girls and boys basketball in the spring.'
