b'Academic ExcellenceEducational PhilosophyOur educational philosophy rests on the belief that balance is essential to the healthy growth and development of the whole child. We work to foster resilience and joy in student life and learning through a thoughtful integration of academics, fine and performing arts, athletics, and character development. Our dynamic and dedicated teachers use a variety of instructional approaches, maintain high standards for student work, and attend to the needs of the individual learner in a small-class setting.Dedicated TeachersOur greatest asset, along with our students, is our highly competent and caring team of teachers. All St. Michaels faculty are certified, and the majority have earned one or more graduate degrees as well. Most telling perhaps about their dedication to the students we serve is the tenure of our teaching faculty - teachers at St. Michaels love what they do and end up staying, on average, for ten years or more.Dynamic School ProgramOur teachers work collaboratively to write and refine core content-area curriculum for reading and writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. A dedicated faculty also teach specials classes in music and art, science and STEM, physical education, religion, and Spanish and French. These enrichment classes - along with interscholastic and intramural athletics, a robust performing-arts program, after-school enrichment activities, and electives classes - help complete a well-rounded and engaging course of study from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.8:1 16 10Student toAverageMedian YearsTeacher Ratio Class Size Teacher Tenure'
